05eb74022a chore(ci): migrate Python tooling to uv and standardize workflow execution (#7386)
# Description of Changes

This PR modernizes the project's Python tooling across GitHub Actions by
migrating CI workflows from pip-based dependency management to `uv` and
aligning Python execution with the engine project's managed environment.

### What was changed

- Replaced `actions/setup-python` and ad-hoc `pip install` steps with
`astral-sh/setup-uv` across CI workflows.
- Configured shared `uv` dependency caching using
`engine/pyproject.toml` and `engine/uv.lock`.
- Updated Python script execution to use `uv run --project engine
--locked` for a consistent runtime environment.
- Replaced package installation steps with `uv sync` for the required
dependency groups (e.g. `tools` and `cucumber`).
- Added Docker image build validation for both production and
development AI engine images.
- Updated workflow cache configuration and Docker build context where
required.
- Removed obsolete Python requirements files that are no longer needed
after the migration.
- Applied minor Python code modernizations, including import cleanup,
modern built-in generic type annotations (`list[...]`, `tuple[...]`,
`float | None`), and small style improvements.
- Removed unnecessary Python formatter/linter extensions from the
development container configuration.

### Why the change was made

- Standardize Python dependency management across the repository.
- Reduce duplicated dependency installation logic in CI.
- Improve workflow performance through shared dependency caching.
- Ensure all Python utilities execute against the same locked dependency
set managed by the engine project.
- Simplify long-term maintenance by eliminating legacy requirements
files and pip-specific workflow steps.

## Move editor under `frontend/editor/`

Pure restructure: `frontend/` becomes the workspace, `frontend/editor/`
holds
the PDF editor. 1775 file renames + 40 wiring edits. No logic changes.

  ### Why

`frontend/` is currently the editor — its `src/`, `public/`,
`src-tauri/`,
config files all sit at the root. Promoting `frontend/` to a
workspace and putting the editor in a sibling folder leaves room for
future
apps to drop in alongside it, sharing one `package.json` /
`node_modules` /
  lint config / Storybook.

  ### What moves

  frontend/
  ├── editor/ ← NEW: everything editor-specific
  │ ├── src/ ← was frontend/src/
  │ ├── public/ ← was frontend/public/
  │ ├── src-tauri/ ← was frontend/src-tauri/
│ ├── index.html, vite.config.ts, vitest.config.ts, playwright.config.ts
  │ ├── tsconfig*.json, tailwind.config.js, postcss.config.js
  │ ├── scripts/
  │ ├── .env, .env.desktop, .env.saas
  │ └── DeveloperGuide.md
├── package.json, package-lock.json, node_modules/ ← workspace install
  ├── eslint.config.mjs, .prettierrc, .prettierignore ← shared tooling
  ├── .gitignore
  └── README.md

  ### Wiring edits (40 files)

  - `.taskfiles/frontend.yml`, `desktop.yml`, `e2e.yml`
  - `build.gradle`, `app/core/build.gradle`
- `eslint.config.mjs`, `frontend/package.json`, `.gitignore`,
`.prettierignore`
  - `docker/frontend/Dockerfile`
  - 8 `.github/workflows/*.yml`, plus `.github/dependabot.yml`,
    `.github/config/.files.yaml`, `.github/labeler-config-srvaroa.yml`
  - `scripts/translations/**`
- Docs: `AGENTS.md`, `CLAUDE.md`, `ADDING_TOOLS.md`,
`DeveloperGuide.md`,
`WINDOWS_SIGNING.md`, `devGuide/HowToAddNewLanguage.md`,
`frontend/README.md`,
    `frontend/editor/DeveloperGuide.md`

Plus 3 renamed + edited: `editor/vite.config.ts` (env path +
node_modules
  walk-up), `editor/scripts/setup-env.mts` (renamed from `.ts` for
`import.meta.url`), `editor/scripts/build-provisioner.mjs` (resolve
src-tauri
  relative to script).

  ### Verification

  | Check | Result |
  |---|---|
  | `task frontend:typecheck:all` (6 variants) | exit 0 |
  | `task frontend:lint` (eslint + dpdm) | exit 0 |
  | `task frontend:format:check` | exit 0 |
  | `task frontend:test` | 657 tests pass, 50 files |
| `task frontend:build:{core,proprietary,saas,desktop,prototypes}` | all
green |
| `task desktop:build` | full Tauri pipeline →
`Stirling-PDF_2.11.0_x64_en-US.msi` |
  | `playwright test --list --project=stubbed` | 172 tests discovered |

`task desktop:build` exercises the heaviest path — Rust + WiX + MSI
bundle
against the moved `editor/src-tauri/`. If anything in the restructure
was
  wrong it wouldn't have built.

  ### Test plan

  - [ ] `frontend-validation.yml` green
  - [ ] `e2e-stubbed.yml` green
  - [ ] `tauri-build.yml` green on at least one platform
  - [ ] `check_toml.yml` runs on a translation-touching PR

Ludy 8555fe3fb5 chore(ci): refine pre-commit workflows, add TOML sorting (#5648)
# Description of Changes

This pull request introduces several improvements to pre-commit
configuration and automation, enhances error handling in scripts, and
updates dependencies and exclusions for code quality tools. The main
changes are grouped below:

**Pre-commit and CI workflow improvements:**

* The pre-commit workflow in `.github/workflows/pre_commit.yml` now runs
specific hooks (`ruff`, `ruff-format`, `codespell`, `gitleaks`,
`end-of-file-fixer`, `trailing-whitespace`) individually instead of
running all hooks at once, providing more granular feedback.
* The sync files workflow in `.github/workflows/sync_files_v2.yml` now
installs pre-commit dependencies and runs the `toml-sort-fix` hook to
ensure TOML files are consistently sorted.
* Added the `toml-sort-fix` hook from the `toml-sort` repository to
`.pre-commit-config.yaml` for sorting TOML files in the locales
directory.

**Pre-commit configuration and dependency updates:**

* Updated the `ruff-pre-commit` repository version from `v0.14.8` to
`v0.14.14` in `.pre-commit-config.yaml`.
* Updated the `codespell` hook to expand the ignore words list and to
exclude the `frontend/public/vendor` directory.

**Script improvements and error handling:**

* Replaced bare `except:` clauses with `except Exception:` in
`scripts/convert_cff_to_ttf.py` for safer error handling.

# Description of Changes

This pull request updates the Arabic translation file
(`frontend/public/locales/ar-AR/translation.toml`) with a large number
of new and improved strings, adding support for new features and
enhancing clarity and coverage across the application. Additionally, it
makes several improvements to the TOML language check script
(`.github/scripts/check_language_toml.py`) and updates the corresponding
GitHub Actions workflow to better track and validate translation
changes.

**Translation updates and enhancements:**

* Added translations for new features and UI elements, including
annotation tools, PDF/A-3b conversion, line art compression, background
removal, split modes, onboarding tours, and more.

**TOML language check script improvements:**

* Increased the maximum allowed TOML file size from 500 KB to 570 KB to
accommodate larger translation files.
* Improved file validation logic to more accurately skip or process
files based on directory structure and file type, and added informative
print statements for skipped files.
* Enhanced reporting in the difference check: now, instead of raising
exceptions for unsafe files or oversized files, the script logs warnings
and continues processing, improving robustness and clarity in CI
reports.
* Adjusted the placement of file check report lines for clarity in the
generated report.

**Workflow and CI improvements:**

* Updated the GitHub Actions workflow
(`.github/workflows/check_toml.yml`) to trigger on changes to the
translation script and workflow files, in addition to translation TOMLs,
ensuring all relevant changes are validated.

These changes collectively improve the translation quality and coverage
for Arabic users, enhance the reliability and clarity of the translation
validation process, and ensure smoother CI/CD workflows for localization
updates.
