# Description of Changes
A comprehensive review of the `messages_es_ES.properties` localization
file has been completed to correct inconsistencies, address translation
errors, and improve overall style, significantly enhancing the user
experience for Spanish users.
After incorporating these changes, the percentage of strings translated
into Spanish goes from 93 to 99%:
### What was changed
* **Missing Translations and Terminology Fixes:** Corrected multiple
strings that were left in English or mistranslated. Examples include:
* Translating tool titles and descriptions.
* Fixing key technical terms.
* Correcting the language name "Hindi" to **"Hindú"** for consistency.
* Fixing the compound word "EmailCorreo a HTML" to **"Correo electrónico
a HTML"**.
* Translating various error and login messages (e.g.,
`error.disallowedUrlContent`, `login.logoutMessage`).
* **Consistent Styling:** Ensured consistent use of capital letters and
punctuation, and standardized terms like DPI.
* **Exclusion File Update:** Added several technical keys related to
auditing, file choosers, and updates to the
`scripts/ignore_translation.toml` file to prevent incorrect automatic
translations for the `es_ES` locale.

To ensure the Spanish user interface is completely legible and

# Description of Changes
TLDR:
- Introduced `AtomicBoolean` to detect error messages dynamically
- Changed logging to use `log.debug` for non-error lines and `log.info`
for error-related lines during live updates
- Improved error and output stream handling for better log verbosity and

This pull request focuses on improving resource management and code

involve refactoring to use try-with-resources for automatic resource

- Refactored multiple controllers (`EditTableOfContentsController`,
`PdfOverlayController`, `ScalePagesController`, `SplitPDFController`,

- Tests adjusted to mock `isDisableSanitize()` instead of
`getDisableSanitize()`
- Logic simplifications:
- Removed redundant null-handling/ternaries now that primitives have

- Replaced `Boolean.TRUE.equals(...)` with direct primitive checks
- Used constant-first `equals` for NPE safety in string comparisons
**Why the change was made**
- Primitive booleans eliminate ambiguity, cut down on

Updated shouldReset to use '>=' instead of '>' so that the counter
resets when the elapsed time is exactly equal to the window. Adjusted
the corresponding test to expect a reset in this case.

# Description of Changes

in the `PipelineProcessor` to distinguish between standard zip files and

# Description of Changes
- Update French translations in messages_fr_FR.properties
- Update ignore_translation.toml for various languages, in order to
improve fr_FR translation progress.
- Fix some few typos in messages_en_GB.properties
I hope this PR will reach more than 95% Progress in fr_FR translation.
This update adds full support for SVG signature files within the **Sign
module**.
Previously, SVG images could be uploaded and used directly but did not
appear under the “Saved Signatures” section.
### What was changed
- **`SignatureService`**:
Extended `isImageFile()` method to include `.svg` file extension,
ensuring SVGs are recognized as valid image files.
- **`SignatureController`**:
Enhanced response handling using `MediaTypeFactory` to dynamically
determine and return the correct `MediaType` based on the file name.
This allows serving `image/svg+xml` for SVG files instead of the
previous hardcoded `image/jpeg`.
### Why the change was made
SVG signature files were not appearing in “Saved Signatures” even though
they could be uploaded and used manually.
This fix ensures consistent handling and display of SVG images alongside
other image types (JPG, PNG, GIF).

- Introduced `TempFileManager` and injected it into `CompressController`
to centralize and control temporary file lifecycle.
- Replaced ad-hoc `Files.createTempFile(...)` usages with a new
`TempFile` abstraction:
- `compressImagesInPDF(...)` now returns a `TempFile` instead of a
`Path`.
- All intermediate artifacts (original/working/GS/QPDF outputs) are
created via `TempFile` and managed with try-with-resources where

- Introduced **Duplicate Page** action in the MultiTool UI:
- New `DuplicatePageCommand` with full undo/redo support
- Button added next to Delete, with tooltip text wired via i18n
(`multiTool.duplicate`)
- `PdfContainer.duplicatePage()` clones page image, rotation, and
adapter state; inserts after source; refreshes numbering
- Hooked duplication into the actions pipeline:
- `PdfActionsManager` now receives `duplicatePage` via `setActions(...)`
- Added `duplicatePageButtonCallback` and control markup creation
- Refactored command architecture for robust undo/redo:
- Added `CommandWithAnchors` for capturing positions and deterministic

sending (EE-only, respects `mail.enabled`).
- Wired notifications into `DatabaseService`:
- Sends emails on successful/failed **backups** and **imports**.
- Added backup verification step:
- Compute SHA‑256 checksum for backup files.
- Validate backup by loading it into an in‑memory H2 instance
(`RUNSCRIPT`) before using it.
- Abort import if verification fails.
- Enhanced `EmailService`:
- Added `sendSimpleMail(String to, String subject, String body)` (async)

* Added a "Technical Details" section to the PDF summary UI, displaying
information such as images, fonts, color spaces, form fields, embedded
files, JavaScript, layers, bookmarks, and multimedia. This includes new
HTML markup and corresponding translation string.
* Populated the new technical details fields in the summary using data
from the backend response, including logic to count and display images,
fonts, color spaces, form fields, embedded files, JavaScript scripts,
layers, bookmarks, and multimedia items.

- Refactored getPdfInfo function (which was 400 lines) to multiple
manageable size functions
- Extract magic numbers to named constants:

# Description of Changes
**What was changed**
- Fetch remote HTML content via `HttpClient` before invoking WeasyPrint
to inspect and sanitize input.
- Reject conversions when downloaded HTML contains disallowed `file:`
scheme references (including encoded/obfuscated variants) using a
compiled `Pattern`.
- Write fetched HTML to a secured temporary file and pass that path to
WeasyPrint instead of the remote URL.
- Provide `--base-url` to WeasyPrint so relative resources resolve
correctly while avoiding direct remote fetching as the primary input.
- Add comprehensive unit tests:
- Ensure command invocation uses local temp HTML + `--base-url` and
cleans up temp files.
- Verify redirect with error when disallowed content is detected.
- Cover temp file deletion behavior and error handling paths.
- Improve resource cleanup in `finally` blocks for both temp HTML and
output PDF artifacts.
**Why the change was made**
- Prevents traversal/local file exposure risks by blocking `file:` (and
encoded equivalents) discovered in fetched HTML.
- Reduces attack surface of URL-to-PDF by avoiding direct handing of
remote URLs to the renderer and enabling pre-validation.

**Summary**
- Enforce wheels-only installs for CI/dev workflows where feasible and
pin `pip` to a specific, patched VCS commit as an interim mitigation.
- Replace the explicit `pip==25.2` entry with a VCS-pinned `pip`
reference in `.github/scripts/requirements_dev.in` and the regenerated
`.github/scripts/requirements_dev.txt`.
- Refresh and re-hash multiple development dependency pins in the locked
`requirements_dev.txt` to ensure reproducible installs and reduce
exposure to vulnerable transitive packages.
- Add notes and guidance for maintainers on reverting the VCS pin once
an official pip release contains the fix.

- CVE-2025-8869 allows malicious sdists to include links that escape the

### Legacy Reference: Overview of Thymeleaf
Thymeleaf is a server-side Java HTML template engine. It is used in Stirling-PDF to render dynamic web pages. Thymeleaf integrates heavily with Spring Boot.
### Thymeleaf overview
In Stirling-PDF, Thymeleaf is used to create HTML templates that are rendered on the server side. These templates are located in the `stirling-pdf/src/main/resources/templates` directory. Thymeleaf templates use a combination of HTML and special Thymeleaf attributes to dynamically generate content.
Where it uses the `th:block`, `th:` indicating it's a special Thymeleaf element to be used server-side in generating the HTML, and block being the actual element type.
In this case, we are inserting the `navbar` entry within the `fragments/navbar.html` fragment into the `th:block` element.
Which is the same as above but passes the parameters title and header into the fragment `common.html` to be used in its HTML generation.
Thymeleaf can also be used to loop through objects or pass things from the Java side into the HTML side.

In the above example, if exampleData is a list of plain java objects of class Person and within it, you had id, name, age, etc. You can reference it like so

### Adding a New Feature to the Backend (API)
1. **Create a New Controller:**
- Create a new Java class in the `stirling-pdf/src/main/java/stirling/software/SPDF/controller/api` directory.
- Annotate the class with `@RestController` and `@RequestMapping` to define the API endpoint.
- Ensure to add API documentation annotations like `@Tag(name = "General", description = "General APIs")` and `@Operation(summary = "Crops a PDF document", description = "This operation takes an input PDF file and crops it according to the given coordinates. Input:PDF Output:PDF Type:SISO")`.

## Adding New Translations to Existing Language Files in Stirling-PDF
When adding a new feature or modifying existing ones in Stirling-PDF, you'll need to add new translation entries to the existing language files. Here's a step-by-step guide:
### 1. Locate Existing Language Files
Find the existing `messages.properties` files in the `stirling-pdf/src/main/resources` directory. You'll see files like:
- `messages.properties` (default, usually English)
- `messages_en_GB.properties`
- `messages_fr_FR.properties`
- `messages_de_DE.properties`
- etc.
### 2. Add New Translation Entries
Open each of these files and add your new translation entries. For example, if you're adding a new feature called "PDF Splitter",
Use descriptive, hierarchical keys (e.g., `feature.element.description`)
you might add:
